I forgot it was Laura's birthday yesterday, so I shall attempt to claw back her good esteem by dedicating this heron, who I saw in Kensington Gardens this morning, to her. Laura, treat your heron wisely (although I'm sure you wouldn't treat it any other way).

Ahh nice heron. He looks very close, or did you just use a zoom?
I think you should introduce him to earlyman's pelicans.
It's obvious you are missing the blue/green open vistas of Cornwall, James.
Didn't need the zoom. In fact, I genuinely thought he was a plastic heron at first, then I went up really close, and he blinked.
Home tomorrow. Marvellous.
It's a great shame that the only bits of a heron one can eat are the two breasts. The head and neck would make a rather nice brolly handle as a present for a Great aunt at Christmas though.
I know this is true,my Granddad told me;he never caught one though!
Wow. I suppose that one must be some sort of street-wise London heron. I didn't know Earlyman had pelicans? I feel like I've missed out hehe.
You mean you've never read 'A Busy Sea', an epic story of misunderstood love among the pelicans? It's on one of his various blogs. I think you'll find it at www.dubshed.blogspot.com
Ah I see. How many blogs does he have?! I only seem to have the address for the now abandoned one, but now I will visit this dubshed place.
