Why are some of them grey?

Are they pod people? I feel disturbed.

Gah! You beat me to it!
*deletes cameraphone picture of Selfridges window*

It is horrendous, isn't it? Selfridges window displays are just getting more and more up themselves.

Rant over, sorry about that

There's one of those in Ehrenstrasse in Cologne - a street I call "trendystr" as it's a bit like a german version of Carnaby st. It's called the "Puppenmuseum" (Doll's museum). It looks fairly weird, and it's next to a combined rock memorabilia/sex shop, which is even weirder..

I saw a great kids clothing shop in Nottingham once whose window was full of what appeared to be the Midwich Cuckoos, white hair and sixties school uniforms and everything.

Farewell from London, cat...

That is quite scary. I can hardly believe its Selfridges, I thought it was a second hand shop or something!

Amazingly, it's supposed to be themed around some nonsense called the Harpers & Queen 100 Most Beautiful list. Each window is meant to represent a different "most beautiful" person, though if someone came up with that monstrosity to symbolise me I would never show my face to the world again.

Oooh it looks a bit like the Mr Magpie shop (or what ever it's caled) nr the star and garter - falmouth. Did you go inside? Very curious...

Yes, I know I just wrote caled instead of called. grrr. Can't go back and change it now.

I thought at first it was Rosina's (which is the one by the star and garter).

That also has a rather large side-order of "creepy", but not quite the grey dolls.

wrong.

and a half.

Yeah, that's the one I'm thinking of! It's quite mesmerizing - I keep expecting bagpuss to emerge through the haze of scary dolls.

The doll museum is Paris is a bit nice. Not as good as the science one though.

I may be one of the museum people.

What were you doing looking at dolls in my city, uberpause?

Ah, now I actually caught this first time round, but thanks - may even watch it again. As a sign of my fanatical devotion,.

Ah I missed this but I do have great pictures and video of Rufus and band in the stripping section of the show from when they came to York. It was a delightful evening.
