Right, sorry, if anyone's wondering why I've been wittering on about royalties so much this week, it's because I have a £5K tax bill at the end of this month, and it is weighing heavily upon me. Total earnings this year: £4K point something. Eek.
Lot of excitement about that District 9 trailer around at the moment, which is appropriate, because it looks awesome. Thought I'd put up a couple of this earlier short films by the director Neil Blomkamp, which are less alieny, and more robotty. I want to make a robot series SO MUCH.
EDIT: also, ooh, I forgot this - Pete Miser's 'Scent Of A Robot' video, which reminds me I really should be getting on with the hip hop space opera (with giant robots) I've been meaning to write since 1998.

Ooooh! Verra exciting. Specially for us Saffers. I saw that Tetra Vaal thing a few years ago and wished there was more of it... Blomkamp also did that Citroen Transformers ad, if I recall.
He did indeed, although unlike Michael Bay, he didn't on to make a hundred and fifty millions bucks from directing the feature.
On the much more exciting topic of SA tax bill, Can't you appeal down the part of it that relates to estimated earnings? If they were as low as you say. Unless, of course, you already have done. Then it might be time to flee to the greenwood with your merry band of robot outlaws.
Heh, I already did that (or rather my accountant already did that). However this year's earning were looking even lower than the most pessimistic estimation. Although things got potentially more exciting today, hurrah!
I'd love to write a robot series. would be so good! The trick is to get comedy so it doesn't take itself too serious. Then make the most of their super abilities with awesome action! And emotion - gotta have emotion!
