I disagree with the "Phoenix" bit. Otherwise I like this very much.

Ooh, thanks for posting this, I've been loving this track.

An anthem for the X/thirty-something generation?

very interesting. Too many words, though. Have to have a lie down now.

I like it, but I agree with anonymous on the face fur.

BTW I think that thou shalt spell "anonymous" "anonymouse." Because that's how I always type it, damn it.

Like this a lot :) thankyou, it's very much on my wavelength.

Love it. Particularly the dodgy backing track, which I am sure was the sample tune on my Bontempi keyboard, circa 1984.

Thou shalt not get distracted by entertaining blogs and forget one has a chicken in the oven.

Fuuuck.

James, where do you stand on the 'Pharaoh'/'Pharoah' controversy?

By the one on the left. Wearing an unusually brightly-hued waterproof and singing with gusto.

I was in the Young Generation once. It never leaves you.

OK - I am being anonymouse as I am so obviously deeply thick and missing out on some huge (mis)spelling debate and, I suspect many more things here. This is funny and relevant etc but it is making me feel confused and guilty!
Why would anyone spell Phoenix with the e and the o the wrong way round?
Thou shalt always kill? He's taking the piss out of Bush right? Who is this guy, what are his politics? Help me James (or indeed Blue Cat), I need more!

I don't know why the Phoenix bit, or the 'always kill' bit, but I know that it is good.

That's not much help, is it?

I wonder if he picked up all those LP's afterwards?!?

You can avoid the 'Pharaoh'/'Pharoah' thing by saying 'great house' instead.

I didn't like it when he threw away all those nice records. What are you meant to put on a pedestal then, if not the Beatles? I know he's right but I don't want to agree.

I like the fact that he puts his jacket on upside down at the start...

I'd like to think there were 'usedtobecool' middle-aged dads and NME writers barking and whining; diving; risking life and limb to catch those records he was chucking...
