That's very good. I think you're right about the drum loop.
Further investigation suggests it might be a fairly basic Garageband loop (which isn't to put down its use, because it works there brilliantly).
I've just listened to this on repeat nine times.
There's also the instrumental he used to cover Notorious B.I.G. 's Hynotize too.It's trying to identify all the movies that's been bugging me.asta
The hook for me was the string sample from the theme to Starman, an under-appreciated sci-fi film from the 80's by John Carpenter.
YES! Thank you for noticing the same drum loop in the two songs. That was really bothering me that I couldn't figure out where else I had heard it.
