anonymous comments

Had to disallow these for the time being, as there's a lot of spam going around. Hopefully can allow them again fairly soon.

Genuinely curious: what do you gain by allowing anonymous comments?

Perhaps it allows non-Blogger users to comment...

I haven't left a comment for ages, been busy. But I still want to know what happened to Toy-fu. I miss it.

Yup, you don't have to have Blogger account to comment, so it allows a wider range of people to leave comments. Also mad people, which is fine, and spammers, which isn't.

Awww, people do ask me about Toy-Fu. Sadly some of the major characters fell apart or were lost in the last move. Or perhaps they went adventuring somewhere. Although it may well come back in a whole new format at some point...

What about mad spammers? Are they OK or not?

What I can't stand is the habit of people not using their real name.

Spammers puzzle me. I mean, who can be bothered? Especially if they're having to put in a wv every time. Much better to have people with names blathering on about nothing in particular.

BTW, have you caught Dollhouse yet? Thoughts?

Not caught it yet, and to be honest, the idea hasn't really grabbed me. It doesn't help that I always thought Eliza Dushku was the one consistently weak spot in Buffy. You seen it? Any good?

Okay, I admit it, my name is actually Smop. But I really prefer to use my pen name.

I saw one episode of Dollhouse and found it intriguing, but we'll see — the idea could run its course a little quickly. Though in some ways it seems like a vehicle for Eliza Dushku to exercise her acting skills, and if you didn't like her in Buffy, you probably won't like Dollhouse.

I miss Toy-Fu too. (I do realize you have to focus on, you know, actual paid work...)

I'm devastated to hear the major characters have been dismembered, though. Why, they were like real people to me.

A quick check reveals Steve the dinosaur is alive and well, but the robot one wasn't very well put together, so he fell apart a bit. Fortunately I backed up his personality on a memory stick, so I can just upload him into a new badly-constructed robot body at some point in the future.

Phew. As long as Steve's OK then I'm happy.

Dollhouse is quite an interesting idea but it hasn't found its feet yet. And it hasn't got the Whedon wit yet either - I suspect they've toned it down because Firefly crashed and burned despite being packed full o' funny.

But it is after all Joss W. so give it a chance.Plus Helo's in it.

Steve is the Jason Bourne of Toy-Fu.

But did Ed ever manage to Transform?

james henry said...

There was an Ed?

Jayne said...

Ed was a bit player, a mere extra. I'm still wondering what happened to Jeff.

Yes, more Toy-fu!!! And I think there's only one 'season' in the archives isn't there?
