New and random things

Danny Stack has some interesting things to say on writing comedy feature specs.

Dept. of Amusing Blogs: corporate-casual. I particularly liked the
Christmas on Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road”.

Also this.

That clip is deadly fab. Those guys rock. Plus, they have great chutzpah.

I'm showing my age, but I remember when MTV started up with the video for this lovely Buggles tune (The oft-underrated Buggles of course including the Art of Noisy Trevor Horn).

What fun.

I .thought. that looked like Balboa Park, but assumed that couldn't be..

Thanks!

I thought the comedy feature stuff was interesting but slightly depressing. If film commissioners really want more comedies with scenes like Pie Sex and 40 year old Virgin waxing then I'm glad I've taken the preemptive moral highground of never getting round to trying but failing to write a comedy feature.

Indeed - I still think the best thing is to read all those sorts of articles/blog posts/whatever, and then COMPLETELY IGNORE THEM and write whatever the hell you wanted to write anyway, regardless of how practical or otherwise your idea is.
